What a miserable state we’re in ….
13th January 2021
As I write this the USA is on the verge of impeaching Donald Trump for the second time following his incitement of a redneck mob to riot and storm the Capitol building, and the UK keeps staggering on towards 100,000 Covid-19 deaths under the inept, delinquent leadership of Boris Johnson and his Cabinet of all the Cretins. The only good that will come out of the two issues is that it’s looking like Trump will be impeached – in effect convicted of a crime – and suitably punished. The end result will be at the very least that he will be barred from holding elected public office ever again and so knocking any thoughts he might have of running in 2024 seriously on the head. That, in my book, would be a result! Whether Joe Biden will push the matter to its ultimate conclusion is a matter for another discussion (although I think he should do time for his actions) in another country but there are lots of pending court actions against Trump and his Presidential immunity doesn’t look like lasting much longer. We can but wait and see.
As for Johnson and his mob – well – I’ll ask again – WHERE IS THE ANGER?
In blogs passim I’ve asked this question and would refer you to my posts on 16th April 2020 and 28th November 2020 just in case you missed them – and I promise you I’ve not done a Cummings and changed anything to suit the assertion. Many of the opinions I’ve voiced in earlier blogs have come to fruition but I take no praise or pleasure in that. Praise isn’t needed for pointing out the strikingly obvious fact that we would get a second wave, for instance. It was obvious to many of us. Unfortunately they powers that be thought it wise to ‘eat out to help out’, turn a blind eye to Cummings’s shenanigans or lift restrictions over Christmas.
The question about the lack of anger was picked up by Polly Toynbee in The Guardian on 7th January 2021 – why are people forgetting, or even ignoring the death toll that this mob are directly responsible for? Please take the time to read this article and show it friends and family – even re-read if you caught it the first time. We cannot afford to forget the damage done by the Tories deliberate, delinquent behaviour and they must not be allowed to benefit from the ongoing vaccination programme as there is a very real risk that the growth of immunity amongst the population will hide the fact that the urgent, immediate need for jabs in arms now is as a direct result of things like Johnson allowing a Rugby Union game at Twickenham to go ahead when Covid-19 was raging in Italy, knocking on the open door of UK airports and Hancock supporting the Cheltenham horse racing festival a week or two later. Both were huge infection sinks (Cheltenham gets 250,000 people from all across the UK over a 4 day period) and triggered the start of the first phase (in my non-medical opinion).
There will have to be a day of reckoning for the way Covid-19 was handled and it should be a judicial review with witnesses called and on oath to tell the truth, whole truth etc etc. There can be no escape from the responsibility Johnson has often said he has – so lets see him and his cronies stripped bare (metaphorically) and hung out to dry. Talking of cronies – did any of you notice how bare faced Hancock was when he was telling all and sundry about the new, super duper vaccination centre at Epsom.
Read on and then think one word to sum it all up ….
- Epson Downs is owned by The Jockey Club – a tax-exempt non-stock membership corporation
- Dido Harding holds a board position on The Jockey Club
- She has been a Tory Life Peer in the House of Lords since 20th October 2014
- Hancock appointed her as head of the £22billion failure that is (not the) NHS Test Track and Trace system.
- She is married to John Penrose, Tory MP for Weston-super-Mare.
- Matt Hancock is the MP for Newmarket
- Newmarket is very much the home of British horse racing.
……… CHUMOCRACY!
Yet another scandalous example to be added to the enormous pile of pound notes borrowed and then handed out to the Tory boys and girls that we, normal UK tax-payers, will have to pay back through higher taxes and another decade or two of Tory austerity measures.
So now I’ll ask you again – where is the f#####g anger that should be raging in the UK?
I’m a great exponent of vaccination – it is the only chance we have of getting back to anything like normal and I hope, beyond hope, that they don’t f##k this up as well. There is all sorts of rubbish being spouted on the internet about the vaccines and all I can say to anyone who doubts the use of the vaccine is YOU MUST BE ABSOLTELY STUPID! Talk of a chip in it is nonsense – have you ever seen the size of the chip that your dog or cat gets off the Vet? Well here you are ….
Now tell me you wouldn’t notice that getting sucked out of the little bottle that the vaccine comes in, or wouldn’t notice the size of the syringe and needle about to be stuck in your arm. Get real. When my kids were babies it was my job to take them for their jabs and I made a point of asking the Doctor what the chances of getting the diseases were if not vaccinated, what was the impact of the disease if caught and what was the chance of a life damaging or threatening reaction. It was a no-brainer and all my kids got jabbed. Rubella (German measles) is an awful disease – would you really want to risk your daughter – or her kids – with it? I must then ask why you would possibly want to risk infecting yourself by not having the vaccine and then go on to risk infecting a friend or relative,. If that person infected by you because of your irresponsible action went on to die would you be upset by the fact that you had killed them? I think it would be manslaughter at best, murder at worse. Think about it. I could go on but I won’t – just to say that your Doctor or Healthcare professional has the truth about vaccination – not some numpty on the internet.
Talking of Healthcare professionals and vaccinations – my physio (Dolf) came today to give me the first of my twice weekly beastings – he manipulates all the spazzy bits of me that I can’t operate anymore – feet, ankles, knees and hips – and he told me that he was off to the Hospital in Aubusson as soon as he was done with me to get he first of his two jabs against Covid-19. He got a call on Monday to go on Wednesday – pretty efficient in my book. His second jab will be in three weeks. None of that 12 week gap as in the UK. The French are prioritising the elderly in Care Homes, the medically vulnerable, the other elderly and all Healthcare workers in this first tranche. Dolf thought I’d get a call for my jab in the next week or so. I’ll try to get Karen to take a photo of the grand occasion when it happens. She’s a bit squeamish about things like that so no promises.
I closed this early part of the post to go and watch the BBC 6 o’clock news last night (it’s now Thursday 14t January 2012) to find out that the massaged ‘after 28 days of a positive test’ figure for the day was 1564 – one thousand five hundred and sixty four people – dead from Covid-19 in one day!!! Where is the anger??? This morning’s Guardian paints an even bleaker picture – an all-in total of over 100,000 – one hundred thousand people dead by or as a consequence of Covid-19!!! This total has been described as being the result of ‘a phenomenal failure of policy and practice’ – and it’s all down to Johnson!
Where is the outrage and anger – why isn’t Johnson bombarded with the angry letters and e-mails he deserves, that his inaction and incompetence warrants? The BBC seems to be letting him get away with murder – and I believe that by definition deliberately doing something that kills someone IS MURDER.
I’ll call it a day for now and close with some good news – at least Trump seems to be on the way out – let’s see if the Republicans really are ashamed of his behaviour and vote to impeach him. Fingers crossed.
Take care – stay home – keep yourself safe and keep others safe – you know it makes sense.
Speak soon
